Jung Woo Sung, the renowned South Korean actor has revealed he is the biological father of a child with model Moon Ga Bi

Jung Woo Sung, the acclaimed South Korean actor, recently made headlines with his revelation that he is the biological father of a child born to model Moon Ga Bi. Despite this admission, Jung has decided not to marry Moon, citing significant financial risks related to divorce as a major factor behind his decision. Legal expert Ahn Se Hoon of Junghyang Law Firm shared insights on this matter, explaining that while Jung Woo Sung could take responsibility for the child by either marrying or providing child support, the latter option carries far less financial risk.

Ahn elaborated on the substantial financial considerations Jung likely weighed in his decision. Based on an estimation of his assets, including significant earnings from commercials and real estate holdings, Jung's total wealth is believed to exceed 60 billion won (approximately $45 million USD). If he were to marry and subsequently divorce, he could face a loss of up to 30% of his wealth, which could amount to tens of millions of dollars. In contrast, the financial obligation of child support, while still significant, would be far less costly. Even with an estimated monthly child support payment of 3 to 20 million won (roughly $2,300 to $15,000 USD), Jung would be paying a fraction of the cost of a potential divorce settlement.

Jung Woo Sung’s agency confirmed the paternity of the child and reassured the public that he is committed to providing for the child. However, they also clarified that Jung and Moon Ga Bi would not be pursuing marriage. Despite the financial rationale, the decision has sparked mixed reactions, as some view his choice not to marry as controversial, while others understand it from a pragmatic, financial perspective.
